I think that people sometimes get to a place where they feel that way about God and sometimes about a person in their lives. Hopefully when that happens with God, someone is there to assure them that's never so (well God working through someone). As for people, sometimes we do go too far away to come back. And if we do, we don't recognize the person we left--what we had isn't there anymore. Then you remember the good, and move on. (Sometimes you end up full circle in a relationship with that person, but in a different way---like me sitting in the family room of my ex's and ex-best friend's home catching up on each other's family, enjoying our grandbaby together, and just laughing and having a good time--totally comfortable with the way our relationship has evolved). As for that last comment: They have a beautiful, custom built home and my ex was sitting on the screened-in-porch when I left. As I was leaving I thought the only thing I'd like to have thay they have is the yellow lab, Buddy. :>)
Oh, and yes, I enjoyed hearing you read it. You had a bit of a scratchiness to your voice which is more how I thought you'd sound--don't know why I did, just did.
Wonderful poem, Nance. And so nice to hear it read, too.

ReplyDeleteAnd it is so grand to hear your voice. I don't think I could do this cause the sound of my own voice rattles me something fierce. It's too weird.
Blessings.
Your voice doesn't sound like I would have expected. I like it though. :)
ReplyDeleteHave we all gone down too many roads? I think His declaration of the moon and stars is definitely for me... and us.
ReplyDeleteYour talent is changing my heart toward poetry.

ReplyDeleteAh. Yes. I am on an iPad, so am not hearing the voice as others do. Only the effect of the words, and that is plenty.
